GE14 : A New Malaysia

On 1oth of May, many of us woke up with a smile and excitement in our hearts! It's a brand new Malaysia after GE14 and it is monumental because we have changed the government together as one! It was on the 9th of May that everyone came out regardless of race or age to vote. Honestly, this is my first time voting, and I went in bright eye, and bushy tail even when naysayers tried to discourage me. Many people who have voted before thought it would be impossible but we did it as a nation. I saw the power of social media helping to turned the tides this time around. Prior to the elections, everyone was sharing news of what's happening...

What is cancer immunotherapy?

We know that cancer is rising in Malaysia and other countries, and the treatments available. One of the available options in some countries is cancer immunotherapy, but what is it? I learnt alot about it at IEEPO 2018 in Greece with 54 countries in attendance. Little ol me represented Malaysia to be there. The layman definition is below: Basically using your own immune system to attack cancer cells, and it works better for certain types of cancer, i.e., colorectal, lung Many pharmaceutical companies who have done research in this area are embarking on awareness of cancer immunotherapy. However, there are problems such as: Biggest one is financial because cost of immunotherapy is high Access to treatment Awareness of what it is There were some...

Thomas Sabo Spring/Summer collection 2018 and Generation Charm Club

This Spring/summer 2018 season, Thomas Sabo is focusing on their sterling silver collection. It focuses on individual look and cultural diversity. On top of that, they are also reinventing their charm collection with their Generation Charm Club Collection. The Spring/Summer range extends from artistic, tropically mythical motifs through to edgy wearable hinged hoops, as new style codes of the season. Here are some designs that I like because of the colours and artistic individualism. Ta-da - the new Generation Charm collection, and you can see the edgy charms yet it exudes a high fashion look I personally liked the Tropical theme from the Sterling silver range because it has various colours, yet it can match with any piece of clothing you wear. I...

Daily life in Niseko

If you are wondering whether there's anything to do besides skiing, the answer is No. Your daily life in Niseko is all about snow sports, and it's very addictive once you've learnt it. If you are not prepared to ski or snowboard, then other parts of Sapporo is better suited for you. Of course, there are other things we do besides skiing, so to simplify the agenda for those going, you can just use mine :) The first thing you do after breakfast is hit the slopes especially when the weather is beautiful If not, you would be skiing down a mountain with low visibility when the wind is crazy! You may have lunch at the top so you can check out the...

Meiz Travels : Experience in Koh Lipe

My first trip of the year was to Koh Lipe for some much needed R & R. The question that comes to mind is what to do when you are there correct? For me, all I wanted to do was swim, read a book and relax BUT that didn't happen. Why? The JOURNEY there was quite difficult as there's no direct flights, you would need to fly to Langkawi and then take a ferry from Langkawi to Koh Lipe. The thing about that is that when you arrive in Koh Lipe, there's no proper dock and you would need to transfer ALL your bags from the ferry into a 'sampan' or a longtail boat. From there, you will then need...

Thank you 2017, Hello 2018!

Everyone has been writing how they felt about 2017, but all I can say is Thank you 2017! I've learnt and grown so much in just one year and here's WHY : Health has always been my priority since the Big-C, and last year was a forefront for me. From working out twice a week, I to up the ante to four times a week consistently and even work out at least twice a week when I travel. I cannot be more thankful that I am able to do sit-ups again because I LOST ALL core strength after cancer. I am much stronger now and at my healthiest weight since I was born!  I combine weights with cardio nowadays Eating clean such...

Nutrition for my skin – Oskia London by Caliata Beauty

Our skin which is the largest organ in our body is just like any part of our body. It needs TLC which means it needs nutrients, vitamins, and supplements to restore and renew cells. Oskia London which is a bio-active nutritional skincare is now in Malaysia! Caliata is a beauty website that sources nature-inspired, effective skincare from Europe and USA cult brands and brings it here to Malaysia!! Yay! That's how I found out about Oskia London and how they manage to restore glowing skin through bio-active nutrients. I am constantly afraid to put European products on my skin because I feel it doesn't suit Asian skin, but it wasn't the case with brands from Caliata. Since trying Oskia London out starting from it's...

Makoto Japanese Restaurant @ Desa Sri Hartamas – Live Unagi Eel & Japanese Unagi chef

When I do a food review here, you know it MUST be good! Last week, I was completely amazed by this quaint little Unagi specialty restaurant at Desa Sri Hartamas. Not only was the ambience inviting, and warm, but they were authentic. The main thing I love about Makoto is that it has a skilled unagi chef who is flown down to prepare and cook unagi for Malaysians here. Plus, they are the first restaurant in Malaysia to fly the live eels down twice a week from Tokyo! Before I begin showing you the courses I eat, please note that they have a seasonal menu so the food I ate might not be there anymore in 2 months. Time to brace yourself...

Yearning for the Thomas Sabo Autumn/Winter 2017 collection

Thomas Sabo recently launched their Autumn/Winter 2017 collection, and there were so many pieces I liked. This round, the jewellery featured two central themes of contemporary lifestyle which was yearning for the faraway and love of the familiar. Such romanticism is hard to come by, and that's why I am in love with their jewellery. My favourite together collection deserves to be the first picture. The latest collection features a sparkling heart and a ring engraved with ‘Together’ merge into an unified pendant Isn't it pretty? My other favourite would be the Glam & soul collection. The graphic circular designs such as the circular pendants is everlasting and allows me to wear it anywhere *winkz* I love what the Tree Of love collection stands for...
