Thank you 2017, Hello 2018!

Everyone has been writing how they felt about 2017, but all I can say is Thank you 2017! I've learnt and grown so much in just one year and here's WHY : Health has always been my priority since the Big-C, and last year was a forefront for me. From working out twice a week, I to up the ante to four times a week consistently and even work out at least twice a week when I travel. I cannot be more thankful that I am able to do sit-ups again because I LOST ALL core strength after cancer. I am much stronger now and at my healthiest weight since I was born!  I combine weights with cardio nowadays Eating clean such...

Nutrition for my skin – Oskia London by Caliata Beauty

Our skin which is the largest organ in our body is just like any part of our body. It needs TLC which means it needs nutrients, vitamins, and supplements to restore and renew cells. Oskia London which is a bio-active nutritional skincare is now in Malaysia! Caliata is a beauty website that sources nature-inspired, effective skincare from Europe and USA cult brands and brings it here to Malaysia!! Yay! That's how I found out about Oskia London and how they manage to restore glowing skin through bio-active nutrients. I am constantly afraid to put European products on my skin because I feel it doesn't suit Asian skin, but it wasn't the case with brands from Caliata. Since trying Oskia London out starting from it's...

Makoto Japanese Restaurant @ Desa Sri Hartamas – Live Unagi Eel & Japanese Unagi chef

When I do a food review here, you know it MUST be good! Last week, I was completely amazed by this quaint little Unagi specialty restaurant at Desa Sri Hartamas. Not only was the ambience inviting, and warm, but they were authentic. The main thing I love about Makoto is that it has a skilled unagi chef who is flown down to prepare and cook unagi for Malaysians here. Plus, they are the first restaurant in Malaysia to fly the live eels down twice a week from Tokyo! Before I begin showing you the courses I eat, please note that they have a seasonal menu so the food I ate might not be there anymore in 2 months. Time to brace yourself...

Yearning for the Thomas Sabo Autumn/Winter 2017 collection

Thomas Sabo recently launched their Autumn/Winter 2017 collection, and there were so many pieces I liked. This round, the jewellery featured two central themes of contemporary lifestyle which was yearning for the faraway and love of the familiar. Such romanticism is hard to come by, and that's why I am in love with their jewellery. My favourite together collection deserves to be the first picture. The latest collection features a sparkling heart and a ring engraved with ‘Together’ merge into an unified pendant Isn't it pretty? My other favourite would be the Glam & soul collection. The graphic circular designs such as the circular pendants is everlasting and allows me to wear it anywhere *winkz* I love what the Tree Of love collection stands for...

Natural Products for your hair and scalp – Viege at Aki Hair Studio

Do you experience oily scalp as you grow older or is it due to the Malaysian heat? When I was staying in the hospital for 18 days during my surgeries, I started having oily hair and scalp. Since then, I've been trying to solve it and  found a solution recently. To my delight, it was made of all types of vegetables and natural. Contrary to what we believe, oily scalp actually produces dandruff for us which is what I experienced. I would be really embarrassed because at that point of time, not only was I super thin due to the colostomy bag, but my hair was flaking!! You guys would know that I head to Aki Hair studio when it comes...

Property hunting – The Riyang Happy Garden

Ben and I have been living together for a year plus now and don’t get me wrong, we LOVE our condominium from its amenities to its location. However, when you think of starting a family, a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom unit isn’t such a good size. So, yes we are house hunting.  I prefer a large condo while Ben prefers a landed house, so how do we choose? Well, we’ve decided to be open to both and see how it goes. Recently, we came across a condo that could suit us. It's located in the heart of the City, and connected to major highways, which is a plus! If you are looking towards a size of 4B3b or 5B4b, this apartment...

The Face Shop has just relaunched their Therapy First Serum which is pretty much a miraculous product! Not only have they relaunched it, but with a good cause attached to it. You can be a beauty and support on a cause on top of that too *wink* . What this means is that it's Buy ONE, get the 2nd one FREE, you will get a pouch(pic below), and part of the proceeds(RM15) goes to support a cancer...

It’s YOUR life, why take a chance?

Exactly what the title means, why would you take a chance with your life? As women, we believe in stereotypes that we are caregivers, and nurturers which make us think of others around us more than ourselves. That is the reason why the term 'Superwoman' exists because they can work full day, yet come home to care for their children, sometimes parents, cook and even clean. There have been so many times we, as females neglect ourselves from how we look to a major thing we always overlook, our HEALTH! Did you know that every day, six new cases of cervical cancer are diagnosed in Malaysia? It is also the second most common cancer amongst females in Malaysia. Many of...

The Taboo called ‘cancer’

Recent events have encouraged me to write this post because of the challenges I've been facing due to cultural taboos. I did think more than twice on how I should write this, and whether I should or not. My intuition tells me I should and here I am writing this for those who have friends or family who is currently having cancer at a young age. I believe I have mentioned in my interviews with publications and newspapers that I felt very ALONE while I was wearing the colostomy bag, and even during recovery. I've searched online countless times for a support group in Malaysia because I wanted to speak to someone MY age who was going through this. However, most...
