Everytime I get to host an event for my favourite brands, I get super excited because I can relate with the brand as I have been using it already or for this time around, eating it for years!
Last week, Haagen Dazs launched their Christmas Collection range with amazing and very pretty creations… All of these desserts follow their latest theme “Pure Joy”. To be honest, what I saw exceeded my expectations of how they would make their creations this time around… As I hosted the event, I even got to see firsthand how Ms. Lai who is the chef for the head kitchen created each and every single one of these creations..
Behind the counter “assisting” Ms. Lai while she created every single one..
Since everyone was asking during the event, I’ve decided that I needed to take my #ootd for the event! My dress was from Miss Selfridge, heels from Charles and Keith and bracelet from Express!
During this launch, the media and I got to try the limited edition flavour specially for Christmas called Vanilla and Florentine. Apparently, this flavour was fancied by royalties in France and Italy in the 17th century. It consists of crunchy, sweet almond brittles with indulgent, salty caramel sauce with a hint of sweet tropical orange delicately blended into a creamy, intense ice cream ! Definitely an explosion of taste in your mouth!
Now, onto the Pure Joy Christmas collection itself which has 3 dine-creations, 1 take-away creation and 2 log cakes
Christmas Story (RM30++) – Four petite crispy pastry choux ice cream sandwiches of Vanilla & Florentine, Vanilla & Cream and Raspberry Sorbet served with whipped cream Christmas trees, luscious chocolate sauce and fresh fruits.
The Haagen Dazs Christmas Fondue (RM75++) – On a regular basis, this is one of my favourite dine-in creations already.. but to make it christmas worthy is definitely taking it up another notch! It consists of rich warm milk chocolate sauce served with an assortment of mini ice cream scoops and patisseries.
Best of Christmas (RM37++) – One of my favourites for this collection because it consists of a chocolate log cake, vanilla and florentine ice cream rolled in raspberry powder, and a scoop of classic milk.. A very classic mix with the cake but I love it!
Two very pretty Christmas log cakes : The Haagen Dazs Chalet and Christmas Baubles (RM148++ each). I know.. it’s too pretty to eat but both have a rich blend of flavours. For those macadamia nut flavour lovers, I suggest you go for the HD chalet as it is the main flavour sitting on top of a sponge cake base..
The media manage to catch a live demonstration by Miss Lai on that day as she re-created the Christmas Story and Best of Christmas.. After that, they had their own dessert-making competition where the winner got to take home a Christmas log cake!!!
A picture with Therine and the brand manage of of Haagen Dazs Malaysia – Ms. Yin Shao Mei.. Loving the backdrop that was placed for the event
By the way, they also have a take-away creation called Christmas Wonder (RM21++) which consisted of a cup of Vanilla & Florentine ice cream and Raspberry sorbet, dressed up with raspberries, chocolate almond sticks and whipped cream.
I kept saying I wanted to share it the whole time but once I started eating it, I lapped up the entire cup (greediness prevails!)
Of course, a much needed picture with the entire team from Bloc48, Miss Lai, and Shao Mei!
Since you guys are such loyal readers and I want to share the pure joy I experienced at the event and with the latest Christmas desserts by Haagen Dazs… I am giving away a RM25 voucher on my page.. quickly check it out there at www.facebook.com/choomeisze
