It’s been awhile but I really wanted to give you guys a glimpse of my humble abode since decorating it! For someone like me who has no aesthetic sense, I can honestly tell you it was difficult to look for furniture to match the theme I wanted which was modern, airy, comfortable yet contained hues of blue(my favourite color). Plus, I couldn’t put too much furniture in, as it’s not a huge apartment that I live in.
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy every bit of looking and buying furniture, but getting it at the RIGHT price was the hardest part, and I’m sure many homeowners agree! So, a friend recommended me this place called KP Signature located along Jalan Ipoh. I didn’t know what to expect as she mentioned, it was a furniture store that refurbished expensive furniture from 5 star hotels to make it look different and brand new. But what’s the harm in looking right because she said that one of the partners is an interior designer who gives insight into your furnishings too!!!
Upon walking in, Vincent(partner, and designer) took me for a walk about, which included the entire 3-storey shop and more. This set-up caught my attention, and I asked whether he designed it, and he said yes! He painted the walls, placed the painting and chairs, and it looked so artsy!!!! I was partly sold already!
Of course, the next question comes the price. For example, I really liked these two sofas and was wondering how much it costs, would you believe it if I told you it was about RM400 plus each, which means RM800 plus for two?!?! That’s almost impossible to find, and it looks so chic! Almost sold!
Finally, he showed me around the ground floor, and I saw these cute decorative items. He told me he even helped decorate the furnishings to the smallest of items, and he was teaching me how to place some plates which I was clearly astounded by.. you mean you can use plates as decorative items? What fully sold me was the fact that they sold me a teapot, 6 little teacups and saucers for RM50!!!!!!!!!!

So, what did I get? I went crazy! I bought a
- Queen size bed
- 2 table lamps
- tea set
- foot stool
- two other stools for the living area
Total bill = RM2760 plus transportation!!!
Lounging in my bedroo, and do you see that table lamp by my bedside, that’s from KP signature, and I love how the blue matches my curtains and baywindow seats!

So, if you want to buy furniture which looks chic at an affordable price, and get advice on how to furnish on top of that, look no further because I have found the solution for YOU! It’s abit far off, but it’s well worth it for the $$$ you can save!
A tip I find useful is that you need to zero down on your color, theme, and budget, and life just gets easier from there. Do not go furniture hunting with no aim, and hoping to mesh everything together…
