Everyone is asking me.. why do you go Seoul so often? The answer is very simple.. I LOVE the vibrancy of the city itself. I don’t have to do sightseeing which I have not done since going there, at least not much because I like hanging out at the coffee shops around that area and eating the food there(that’s just simple minded me speaking).
This time, Ben and I decided to spend at least one day sightseeing.. and here are some recommended places for you who will be going next:)
1. Namsan Park
You will exit the subway and immediately, the park is right next to it
Drop by to buy some Korean snacks on the way up to Namsan tower. The street food is pretty yummy and it’s always good to get what the locals are eating right
A picture while waiting for the bus up to Namsan tower. Please DO NOT attempt to walk because it’s really far
2. N Tower
Once you arrive, there’s a steep hill you would need to climb in order to get to the top! Thank you Ben for carrying my bag and being such a sweetheart
N Tower is known for it’s love lockets where you can lock a picture on trees, and designated surroundings….. Ben and I did that at a Love cafe in Insadong last year and we are planning to head back there to check it out soon!!
Heading up to the top soon! It’s very cute because the elevator speaks to you and shows you images as you going up, and they usually mention it takes 30 seconds to get to the top! Fast eh?
Also, we recommend you to buy the package for tickets up, two drinks and the popcorn if you plan to spend a long time there because it’s more worth it than single tickets
At the top overlooking Seoul! Sitting right beneath the word Kuala Lumpur.. my patriotism kicking in.. It means that KL is just that way from the tower
3. Rainbow Bridge
Look at the beautiful lights behind me! Ben and I waited 3 hours for the rainbow bridge’s action of lights and water but to our dismay.. it did not happen due to technical difficulties!OMG! And, it was so cold standing there and waiting so please dress warmly.. The show starts at 8pm, so be there just before so you don’t waste time.. It’s apparently very romantic <3
4. Korean BBQ in Gangnam
We must end the day with good Korean food, and dodgy side street bbq is the best!
The meat for this restaurant is good but the flavour wasn’t there but I would always recommend you ask a local where to eat instead of going into any Korean bbq as they don’t know how to speak english most of the time !
That was a very busy first day in Seoul, cabbing and subbing my way around town.. I don’t believe in packing my day full with things when I go to a country but rather taking my time to enjoy the sights and sounds.. that’s my advice for travelers:)
Stay tune for my next day in Seoul with Omega!
xoxo,
Meiz
P.S. Try NOT to take cabs in Seoul because they don’t know English unless you have the Korean name of where you are headed to!
