The Sacrifices my Mom made

For someone who went through MANY ups and downs in her life, she is still strong in the face of adversity, calm when everyone is not, and loving every single minute of it. That person is my mom and no words can truly describe my love for my mom and someone who was there for me even when everyone around me was crumbling last year when I was diagnosed with cancer, and even during my colostomy bag period.

Yup, this is my pretty and cute mom, and she has made ALOT of sacrifices for her family (her children and husband included), to show us nothing short of more than unconditional love.

I can keep reiterating that she loves us alot and bla bla bla, so I thought, why not show it to you guys?

1. She stayed with me on alternate nights at the hospital and spent most times at home during my colostomy period, she even helped me clean my colostomy bag, and woke up to help me clean the bed when I would awake with feces all over me!

My mom was in the hospital with me the day before my surgery, stayed over night with me, and when I was wheeled in after a 5-6 hour surgery, she was the only one that did not cry while calmly listening to my surgeon on how the surgery went(I probably looked really scary with tubes sticking outta me).

And you know what, she actually stayed with me in the hospital alternate nights after both surgeries and spent ALOT of time with me when I had my colostomy bag. Those nights when I woke up in the middle of the night crying because of uncontrollable feces that kept leaking out of the bag, she would be the one calming me, and she helped me put on the colostomy bag when my intestines were swollen(the first two weeks) when my dad didn’t even want to look at it.

2. She travels with me for work even outstation especially during my recovery period to make sure I am alright

Yup, my mom came to Bali with me when I was emceeing there. At that time, no one knew what happened, so she went to made sure I didn’t carry heavy bags or in case any emergency happened. Auntie Jennifer & Auntie Stephanie were sweet enough to have their “Girls trip” in Bali with mom. Both of them awesome moms as well.

3. She always thinks of me

Yup, me and her children in general. When she knows I will be at home in the mornings, she always “Tapaus” me breakfast after her exercise and I really love it because it’s vegetarian!!! She would always go out of the way to make sure I eat at the right time because if I don’t it would usually affect my digestive system

4. She will cook my favourite food and make it oh so delicious!

You see, I really like minestrone soup, so she spent time searching recipe books to cook it for me on her holiday! Thanks MOM!!

5. She lifts me up when I am down emotionally, physically, and mentally

You heard right!! She’s my best friend as she’s listens when I am down, assists me emotionally, physically such as helping me carry heavy things when I can’t, and gives me the mental motivation when needed

I am tearing as I write this because as I write, I see the sacrifices my mom made, and how much she loves her children.

I really don’t know how to thank you mom and I am sorry you had to see me sick and be the one who took care of me even in my 20’s when I am suppose to be healthy and strong, and it should be the other way around.

I am sorry to my grandmother too as she too was there to boil me chicken soup, made sure I had energy, and mentally motivated me when I had cancer. Both of these women, mothers who sacrificed not just alot but every bit of them for their children is more than admirable, they are heroes and beyond.

I LOVE YOU MOM!!!! AND GRANDMOM!

Btw, my mom did all this for me when she’s still working fulltime and is a grandmother to my niece on top of that!
