Have been asking around about the best steak places in town…. and I usually hear the world Ril's! It's not for me but Ben who has steak cravings thanks to Gordon Ramsey!
So one night, we decided to try Ril's out for what I've heard so much about….
It is located on Jalan Telawi, same row as McD's, somewhere right in the middle. Once you walk in, you are greeted by friendly service staff and seated…. Do take a look at the menu, simple and the pricing is towards the higher end, but is as expected!
Tables are all adorn with fresh flowers which gives it a great finishing look
You can view part of their specials on the board towards the back… and every table is served bread before you begin your meal…Loved the different flavoured butter!
When you order the steak, it does not come with sides which is an add-on. A suggestion would be to order the mash potatoes (RM14) because it tastes really good!
The medium rare steak (RM78) which looked dry on the outside..but once you slice through..it is really cooked to medium rare which is difficult to achieve!
For me, I ordered the specialty of the day.. a fish dish(RM48). The sauce was buttery with onions, and tomatoes…BUT it wasn't boneless which made it frustrating to eat! Other than that, I would definitely recommend the fish as an alternative to red meat if you don't happen to eat red meat. You can order this fish but tell them you want it de-boned and the chef will prepare it for you.
A must have photo before we leave…. If you look at the staircase behind us, they have a classic English bar upstairs which plays live music on weekends….Must TRY!
So, if you want to date your partner who likes to eat steak… my vote is definitely for Ril's. Although there are mix reviews about it, my experience was pleasant and the food was good:) Definitely a romantic date place I would go too again!
