My friends and I were just chatting after the Pavilion Pitstop event the past Friday about the three things that you want in a partner, and my friend Kit Mah urged me to write more posts on love.. So, here it is guys..
Kit and I right before a couple of us had a conversation on what you would look for in a partner
Honestly, after the age of 25, be it girls or boys, many of us don’t want to waste time dating different people in hopes of finding the right one. If it’s not working out, you can try and try again, but based on personal experiences as well, the arguments won’t stop most of the time, and it’s just not meant to be. This brings me to the questions put forth by my bestie on the questions you would ask yourself about your potential partner..
1. What is a MUST HAVE in your partner
– E.g., character, kind heart, etc.
2. What is a GOOD TO HAVE
– E.g., looks, intelligence,etc.
3. What is a MUST NOT HAVE(cannot be the opposite of your first one)
– E.g., Liar, Laziness,etc
It is a pretty simple checklist for yourself right, but when you do think, it’s not as easy as you would think to narrow that checklist you would have done for an ideal partner. We always have a huge checklist of what we want in a partner, the perfect romeo, and for men, Jessica Alba, but will we find a person that will fit all those criterias? Are we sometimes being unrealistic as well?
This post is meant for those out there who are still searching for the one or what they have alluded as the perfect person for them. We have an ideal, and a realistic goal, so I guess, am just helping you guys possibly be realistic when you are hunting for the one.. that person can just be staring right at your face… like it has for me.. we knew each other since college and we both could never imagine ever getting together..but here we are, 5-6 years down the road..
After thinking it through, it’s best to have a simple checklist prepared mentally in your mind because at least you can summarize your list into just three simple things and when you actually meet a potential partner, you would immediately know if that person has checked off the MUST HAVE or MUST NOT HAVE which gives you an idea into pursuing something further.
Some of my girlfriends who I’ve spoke to on the above three things… I guess, as you grow older, we really don’t have time to waste to look for prince charming , or Mr. Perfect by waiting or trying for an extended period of time.. (I know I sound like an auntie!)
Anyway, good luck guys in finding the right one for you:)
Love,
Mei Sze
