Yes, I was traveling again.. but this time for leisure with Ben to another YTL establishment but this one was located in Sabah which means we had to fly there which is a little bit of a hassle compared to driving but the journey is about the same inclusive of arriving at the check-in lounge for the resort!
Just FYI, all pictures taken was with my new Olympus EPL7!! So, you will get to see it’s functions through my pictures along the way…
Didn’t know it took 2.5 hours to fly from KL to Sabah… such an “ulu” person! Thank GOD it was for a holiday! For me, I just feel thankful that I am able to fly again as I couldn’t fly for 3-4 months when I wasn’t well…..
Upon arriving at the check-in lounge, customary to YTL culture, we were served a glass of refreshing sorbet and had to take a selfie using the “selfie” mode on the Olympus EPL7… Great that my skin looked flawless through it:)
Using one of the art filters… vintage I believe while chilling by the Sutera Harbour Marina before taking the boat to the island
Once we arrived, we were sat down and given a schedule of the activities for the week for us to choose from!! Loved that they had so many different types of activities…
The thing about YTL resorts is that if you are under the Malaysian residence package, it means 6 meals inclusive of 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, and 2 dinners and 2 nights stay… So, the first thing we did when we arrive was EAT!
Each meal consists of either an appetizer and main or mains and desserts.. So, we chose the appetizer… Ben’s tomyam soup wasn’t good though…
Both of our mains were pretty good..
Now, onto the rooms..
Spacious rooms!!! The bed setting was very similar to Pangkor Laut resort
They even had a walk-in closet and study area
And the toilet which had a bathtub big enough to fit 3 people!
On Fridays, they brought local culture to the resort with local delicacies such as teh tarik
Malaysian kuih by the beach, what’s not to like
And traditional games!!!
So, I basically enjoyed my teh tarik by the setting sun – BLISS!
Before dinner, we actually chilled at day bed rooms specially overlooking the sea as well..
Ta-da… nice right? Such a brilliant idea!
For those wondering whether the YTL packages are worth it… now you know with the amount you get to eat and the luxurious resorts you get to stay at.. everything well thought out from A-Z!!!
Stay tuned for my next update on the island’s private beach and amazing Thai Food:)
Love,
Mei Sze
