I have met Pei Shan since getting together with Ben, as they were close friends, and he did mentioned to me before that Pei Shan used to have cancer. Of course back then, I didn’t want to pry too much as Ben didn’t know too much as well.

It must have been a true coincidence that Pei Shan recently contacted Ben for assistance on a matter, and when he went to see her, he saw her with her two lovely boys, Lucas, and Liam! He came back very inspired, and told me, “Loo Pei Shan is one amazing person, how she can laugh, and smile and truly act like no cares in the world after experiencing cancer and it’s treatment!’’

A sneak peek at our shoot

After he told me that, I myself felt inspired by this extremely bubbly person, someone who smiles, and can laugh at everything! The best part about her, she’s so strong emotionally to breeze past the fact that she had cancer when she was 14, and she actually only found out when she was 19, as her parents hid it from her to not alarm her. For her, she mentioned that the fact that her friends from high school then, and teachers were very supportive, not talking about the huge scar she had on her throat. It’s this type of support that all cancer patients should have!!

A picture of her while shooting, being such a trooper under the hot sun J Thank you for doing this!

When she was 23/24, she had to go for nuclear therapy as a preventive measure, and one of the consequences of it is that the doctor told her she had a lower chance of conceiving.

But she fought all odds, and came out winning with a loving husband and two children. If you ask this bubbly girl about cancer, she would reply with a smile that her illness is never on her mind, and is the last thing she would think about. I personally believe that is one way to keep the cancer cells at bay, not thinking about it and attracting it to you.

She says that everyday spent with her two sons doing the most mundane things for every mom is a gift to her which she treasure! She appreciates every moment spent with her kids, even bathing and putting them to sleep.

It’s because of her experience with cancer that make her want to teach her children to be good people, and she highlights the fact about wholesome values that she is going to impart on her children.

And remember guys, there’s always a silver lining in every dark cloud, and once you are strong emotionally, we can overcome anything even cancer!
